Stata is a general-purpose statistics, data management, and graphicspackage designed for research professionals, including biostatisticians,epidemiologists, economists, social scientists, and others who analyzedata. Stata is integrated, programmable, UNIX-like, and allows bothinteractive and non-interactive use.In addition to standard statistical features, Stata provides a wide rangeof maximum-likelihood models including logistic regression, conditionallogistic regression (1:1 and 1:k matching), multinomial logisticregression, probit, Poisson and negative binomial regression, Coxproportional hazards (with time-varying regressors and censoring), andothers. Also included are specialized features such as tables forepidemiologists, Kaplan-Meier survival curves and log-rank tests forsurvival analysis, influence, and fit statistics for regressionalanalysis, DEFF for sampling statisticians, and Kappa measure ofinterrater agreement for health researchers.Stata provides high-information analysis graphs such as scatterplotmatrices in addition to the more standard graphical displays.
